General InformationLocation![]() ![]() ![]() Manado is easily accessible via Singapore four times a week with a direct flight (about 3:20 h) and daily flights from main Indonesian cities like Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar and Denpasar/Bali. From the airport you can reach the island with air conditioned transportation arranged from the resort. LanguageThe official language is Bahasa Indonesia. English is widely spoken throughout Indonesia. The staff at Gangga Island resort is multilingual.CurrencyThe local money is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) however, at Gangga you can pay for everything (activities, meals, drinks) in US Dollars if you prefer.TimeBetween Central Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, etc.) and Bali, Sulawesi, Lombok and Komodo, there is + 7 hours time difference. Gangga has an equatorial climate with monsoon-like weather. The rainy season usually lasts from November to April and the dry season from April to October. Gangga is in a privileged location with a particularly favorable microclimate. The temperature hardly ever drops below 25 degrees while the water temperature remains constantly around 28 degrees. The rainy season is characterized by sudden, momentary downpour after which the fine weather comes back again.FoodThe resort has two restaurants, one of them is entirely built with bamboo and used for fish barbeques on certain nights; the second, more formal restaurant is where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served "à table d'hôte". Occasionally dinner buffets are also served in this restaurant. The food is Mediterranean but you can also enjoy local dishes and, of course, daily fresh fish delivered by fishermen from villages in the neighborhood.Documents and VisasIn February 2004 Indonesia introduced wide ranging changes in the national visa-free and visa on arrival system.
Citizens of countries not included on a visa-free or visa-on-arrival lists must apply for a visa overseas before arriving in Indonesia. VaccinationThere is no vaccination needed in all of Indonesia.
