Manado is a city on the very northernmost part of the island of Sulawesi. It is quite a large city but chances are if you are heading to the area you are going to one of the dive resorts or islands even further to the north of the city. Gangga Island is located in the province of North Sulawesi, approximately 1.5 degrees north of the equator. As you may know, there are only 7 species of sea turtles in the entire world. Incredibly 6 of those species are found in the waters around Indonesia and at least 5 are regularly seen around Manado.
